Overview

The Brand Registry Group (BRG) is the global association supporting the needs of dotBrand Top-Level Domain (TLD) operators and promoting the benefits of dotBrand TLDs across the world.  

With a membership base including some of the world’s most recognized brands, the BRG has been an integral part of the ICANN multistakeholder landscape since its inception in 2013 and has been instrumental in helping to shape policy and technical developments in this innovative area.  

Due to recent changes, we are currently seeking to identify individuals or entities with experience in an Executive Director and/or similar advisory roles to help us take our organisation forward.  

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for an individual to be the ‘face of the dotBrand community’ across the industry and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that you are a highly experienced and strategically minded individual with a history of developing relationships across the ICANN community and influencing real change.  

We also seek to have a candidate that is comfortable with a highly autonomous role as due to the size of our organization, this role will suit an individual willing to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty across a range of functions along with a willingness to go the extra mile in order to make a real difference for our members.  

Who should apply? 

Applicants with knowledge or experience with domain name registries and registrars, and the domain name industry in general would be highly advantageous, as would experience dealing with international stakeholders and policy bodies.   

Experience within the ICANN community is highly desired, as is some level of technical competence and a previous understanding of the unique challenges facing trademark owners online.  

In addition to having necessary relevant experience and expertise, and/or demonstrating a willingness and intent to develop the necessary expertise, the appointee will need to demonstrate: 

– Excellent advocacy skills: ability to represent policy positions both in writing and face to face  

– Good written and oral presentation skills, including confidence at the microphone 

– Diplomacy and the ability to tailor the approach and messaging to the audience 

– A commitment to the representation and protection of brand owner interest 

– Strong organizational skills 

– Flexibility to support multiple time zones for industry calls as needed 

– An ability to travel to attend industry events as needed (post pandemic)
